Born in Malaysia and raised in Hong Kong and Singapore, Elaine Kuok creates works ranging from traditional portraiture to abstraction. She admires the energy of Soutine, the color of David Park and the mystery of Peter Doig.

Together, Elaine and her husband have lived on 5 continents over the past 24 years and she currently works in New York City. Previously, Elaine worked at UNESCO in Paris.  She holds an M.A. from SOAS (University of London) and a B.S. in engineering physics from Cornell.
